Description
I am excited to offer this hand-cast pewter replica, inspired by the Cursed Opal Necklace. I make each necklace by hand from intricate pewter metal castings and resin opals I created. After assembly, I apply an antique finish to the metal to bring out all the fine details of the casting. Since each necklace is hand-made there will be slight differences. For those not familiar, pewter is a metal alloy, which means it's a blend of several types of metal—such as tin, copper, and zinc. Pewter is extremely versatile and lends itself to a variety of uses, including detailed jewelry. The pewter used for these replicas is 100% lead-free and will not tarnish. I classify this necklace as the “AUTHENTIC COSPLAY” version because it looks nearly identical to the necklace prop and it CAN be worn. The back of the necklace features a functional clasp and an adjustable chain so you can wear it any length that works best for you. If you are sensitive to the alloy metal used in fashion jewelry – usually a nickel allergy – you might want to apply a clear coat of “Jewelry shield” sold on Amazon just to be safe. Also, always wipe off the necklace after each wear with a soft, clean cloth to remove body oils and sweat which can damage the metal finish over a long period of time. Never dip the necklace in a chemical cleaner or it will damage the opal stones and remove the hand-applied antique finish. This necklace comes in a simple display box and is pinned to a velvet pad for safe transport. You can display this necklace in a fancy picture frame, shadow box, or on a jewelry neck form. The necklace weighs 122 grams and measures 13” long and 7” wide when laid out on display. The worn necklace length is 21” with a 4” extender and the center drop is 4.5” long. Also, feel free to message me if you want a custom variation of this necklace and I will be happy to make it for you! Please look carefully at the images and ask all the questions you would like before placing a bid. All sales are final.
