I own a specialty advertising company, now in our 46th year - and I was in the industry for many years prior to establishing my own firm. We are now in the semi-retirement stages and I am offering our somewhat unusual advertising pieces collected over the years. One of our better suppliers of custom jewelry and related items was a company called Providence Emblem, based in Providence RI. Providence expanded its product line and eventually dropped the "Emblem" part of their name, as they supplied a much wider variety of merchandise. One area of expansion was in doing custom work in acrylics. But in addition to just static embediments, they used their creativity to produce most unusual advertising gifts utilizing acrylics. The process was referred to as "Acrylic Super Insertments", and begun in the 1980's. A nd here is one of their creative sample pieces. Providence was able to sandwich products - even liquids - between slabs of acrylic. This is a great example of their capability. It features a glass of wine being filled from a bottle. As you tilt the piece, the wine (which is diluted grape juice) appears to pour from the bottle into the glass! When you turn it the other way, the liquid flows back into the bottle. Pretty amazing! The size is: 5.5" x 3.75" x .5" and was made in the U.S.A. The imprint reads "Toasting Your Success!", and can be viewed & demonstrated from either side - with the same copy on both sides. Included is a small romance card with care instructions. As indicated, the process was begun in the 1980's and this sample is one sent to a small group of select distributors, and not part of a large run. This is a rather rare sample.
